I don't get this, personally. I don't think being an audiophile means
you don't care about how much something costs. To me,

quality and cost can be with audiophile gear.

I agree that the relationship is non-linear for sure and that we all
should care deeply about performance. I'm not sure that I (or anyone)
would say value is irrelevant at all. It's interesting to think that
it's probably the SB at relatively low cost that gets us all to this
forum anyway.

i also have the old mac mini g4. If i am not mistaken they all have
digital out thru the headphone/speaker jack on the back. Just need the
adapter...i'll check mine and verify.
