If you do the maths, it's not a problem for wifi at all.

I rip mostly using EAC with all bells and whistles, I also have CDex

There is the issue that the unit is slightly more responsive working
through the menus when wired than wireless. Not a big deal, but I hate
latency of any kind personally.

My Airport express streams without interference nor breaks, so

so unless I have streaming pauses, wiring would be unnecessary, right?

So how does it compare to the USB/Vista feed now?

Eric,
WAVs take roughly twice the network bandwidth of FLACs. I have no
problems streaming 16 bit WAVs or 24 bit FLACs over my wireless-G
network. Haven't tried a 24 bit WAV but if you do the maths it should
be well within the capacity of even wireless-B.
I can't imagine many people here using wi
The biggest reason for me to use Ethernet is bandwidth issues, which
sort of relates to quality. Chances are your wireless wouldn't be able
to keep up with a lossless format file, although it should
theoretically.
I have a lot of 5.1 Surround FLAC files playing to my Transporter,
which is wired.
There is also the theory that the additional power draw of the wireless
transmitter/reciever has an effect on other parts of the SB or
Transporter.
I prsonally have my doubts over how much of an effect this makes, but
it's possible i guess

To quote many people, "that's not how the internet works"
The sound stream sent between the slimserver and the squeezebox is
error corrected and buffered. You either get sound, or you don't.
There is no difference.

My wifi transmitter (Apple Airport Express) and ethernet router are
close at distance to my transporter (10 meters or roughly 30 feet)
I am currently using the wifi connection without issues, but started to
wonder if wiring would be worth it in terms of sound quality (of
course).

The proper thing to do is to point you to the Inguz forum:

Some people love it and some people dislike it strongly.
You might do well to explore other manufacturers?
But given your last comments, I recommend you try some

Actually that is what it said on the manual. But somehow the dealer
told me it is both analog and digital? I need to ask Meridian about
this.

Does the tuning make that much difference, or are you trying to, uh,
polish a turd (to use an old Transporter-related phrase)?
Spending lots of time and/or cash doing minor tweaks is indicative of
mild paranoia

we see this we can confirm or discount that possibility.
