Thank you for your opinion - and I suspect it is just that.
You appear to have an issue with the Beresford. My opinion is that
sound for pound it is right up there. It is also well designed and the
changes to the PSU should should really be seen as icing on the cake
I currently have a SB3 Duet connected to AudioEngine A5 speakers.
Is it worth buying a Beresford do you think, or are the A5s not
'audiophile' enough for me to notice any improvement ?
Any thoughts/opinions greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The Beresford DAC is a very fine box, but I doubt you hear much
improvement with
You can buy any meridian dvd player they still sports an error counter.

The error counter is kinda funny most cd's it's on zero all the time,
but I tried a very old burned CD-R it was up to 1 errors when the
whole CD completed. But the documentations says nothing on

Thanks for reply Labarum I suspected as much.

After years of just sitting on the shelf I decided my 1977 Yamaha
receiver needed to be put back to work. I found a local classic audio
repair shop and they got the receiver back in fine working order for
$165. I replaced my Arcam FMJ A32 with the Yamaha and have to say I am
very pleased with the
nothing - NOTHING - is lost in increasing the bit-depth from 16 to 24.

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...SB3+Stontronics PSU - Altmann
JISCO/UPCI - TACT 2.2X (Linear PSU) + Good Vibrations S/W - MF

Those vintage 1970s receivers are great. I've got a Marantz 2225 from
that era that I just had refurbished for a bedroom system. It puts to
share some of the newer stuff out there. And the thing will probably
last another 20 or 30 years before it needs servicing again. How many

No, I have a late 70's (early 80's) Sony tuner, that sounds great.

Yes, increasing bit-depth is not re-sampling.
Increasing bit depth is a bit like changing currency. Let's say you
have a value in your pocket of 100 pounds. Increasing bit-depth is like
converting that into 1 pennies. The value is the same but how you
count it is different. In the case of
