Can you recommend a well designed asynchronous USB DAC with the proper
isolation etc that will work well with the Squeezebox Touch USB
facility? That would be interesting, finding a compatible DAC with
master clock control over the SB.

Piont was the vinyls limitations also prevent it from being used in the
loudness war, hence the oxymoron of digitally recorded stuff being "
better" on vinyl ? This is ofcourse a completely perverse state of
affairs..
I begun life with vinyl but sold of my 350 vinyls in 1999 to reduce my
losses

Ethernet are galvanic insulated through the transformer in the Ethernet
adapter, this is one of the reasons why Ethernet is so roubust. Despite
that, communication problems that leads to packet losses up at the TCP
leveldo occur
