I have now).
Of course, this all still means I'll have to do (in a later stage)
proper A/B testing of Transporter's dac versus external dac and G02
versus attenuators. This as advised. I will of course also let you know
that outcome.

I have in the back of my mind that the G57
(which is an A/B amplifier) on low volumes used the A amplifier part,
which should be the best in the current setup with the Transporter. But
perhaps this remark illustrates that I still do not understand it all
:) !

Ok Dave, clear. So when I understand well this issue will be solved
when taken the advice of Clive and buy a proper passive stepper?
"you need to make sure you get the gain staging right (with appropriate
passive attenuation)"

el there are still 16bits left so degradation not noticable.
And to be honest, at this level the music sounds great, better then
with 100% Transporter volume via my Meridian G02 preamp.

happen often). I'll give this a try. Thanks!

Thanks Phil...is also my worry, therefore I doublecheck before I switch
on my poweramp that the volume of the Transporter is on a low llevel.
But for the long run that is no solution as there will be a moment that
check will be forgotten. So your suggestion will be followed up.

Syn
of the Transporter also
works for the digital inputs, or does it only works for the analogue
output? If it has to work with the digital inputs, what do I do wrong?
Many thanks!!
