clock from data, we could expect little else.
Conventional CD transports by their nature are inherently push
based.
Computer based transports can be pull based given the right
implementation.
Raw S/PDIF, by its nature, is push based.

I use one of these
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102cp_id=10229cs_id=1022901p_id=2764seq=1format=2
to connect my HDX-1000 to my transporter. Works for me.
You could get one, then ABX it with your existing cables to see if it
is good enough for you.

Assuming you have a powerful enough server, have you considered the
inguz DRC plugin? http://inguzaudio.com/RoomCorrection/ might be what
you are looking for, and a lot cheaper if delivers what you are looking
for.

have the advantage of applying to all sources of RF noise in
the testing environment, not just the SB switching power supply.
I'm guessing you could get a lot of copper mesh for $259
The question is how do I market it as Audiophile Grade :)

Unless you believe in magic?
That said, given the price delta and ratio between the equipment under
discussion, which do you think is better value? why?
All, IMHO, YMMV etc etc.

If not, try changing the cable/input. Does the volume difference
follow the cable/input. If so, then the system is not fixed :)

select rca as digital input - sound output
Back to slimserver via browse or whatever - sound output
back to rca as digital input - a few pops - then no sound.
Not good.

1) Only use known good sources in tests.
2) Don't run tests last thing at night.
Thats more reassuring for me, even if it doesn't help those
experiencing their own issues.
Sometimes you forget that rotating physical media has its own issues.

I guess transporter owners don't suffer from source upgrade-itis as
much?

FZfan has just got his transporter, but is unable to make the meet
(There are are some nice pictures in page 6 of the thread).
Sleestack has one transporter being modded, and the other is on back

Are there no Bay Area Transporter owners we can tempt?
Anyone?
