Thanks for the tips folks - that helps.
Yes, I had planned to run a wired network for this anyway, lots of
concrete and steel around.

on the number devices that one
server could handle, or what type of hardware would suit the job in
hand?
In this instance, I'm thinking a lossy format is best fit; audio
quality is not paramount and I'd want to keep the load on the network
manageable.
Appreciate your thoughts

Yeah, I hung around ebay for a while waiting for an SB2. However, the
white SB3 at $249 was a good deal - especially with the shipping. I
probably would have paid as much for a used SB2, all in.

I've been getting this problem intermittently for some time. I thought
before it may have been related to the modified clock in my SB3/DAC.
Hearing other reports, I'm now not so sure. I use WMA Lossless,

that asynchronous reclocking is equivalent to synchronous.
Some would argue that the most effective solution is to have one clock

How it would work
I would buy from Slim (while their sale on white SB3s last) and have it
shipped directly to you. On receipt you would package the SB2 well and
ship it to Canada by a trackable shipper.
If such an offer interests you PM me.
cheers

there for these albums and not for others.
Couple of questions really: has anyone seen this before and have any
idea why it would happen with certain CDs?
And also is there any way to mute the signal between tracks from the
Squeezebox side?
--
Jitterbug
not exactly sure what I was asking for with the muting. I thought
that perhaps older CDs implemeneted the gaps differently and that there
was a way for squeezebox/slimserver to mimic how the gaps in CDs are
implemented now. Along the lines of using fading for instance.

Jitterbug
, and I did not have this problem
with the DAC before I added the clocks. I will try it with just the DAC
clock and see what I get. Also, I will try the modded squeezebox with
another DAC.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Actually, it took some several years for Einstein's (1905) ideas to be

His fame came 14 to 15 years later when solar eclipse gave scientists

As for connecting the SB3 directly to a power amp, it would be better
(for audio quality and safety reasons) to use some type type of preamp.
Many here use passive preamps which can be inexpensive.
