audiophiles
.
Certainly any changes to fuze types and size violate manufacturers
design and anyone who is doing it needs to understand possible
ramifications.
Everything makes a difference in this hobby and fuses are no exception.

The analog output of the DEQ is pro level +4dBu (and +14 if needed)
which is too high for most audiophile preamps. You either have to get
10dB attenuators or a 4:1 isolation transformer (look at Jensen ISOMAX
series).

else.
Has anyone experienced similar behavior? Could it be some ground loop
from ethernet? I don't have any hums or noises but I have been battling
a little too warm of a sound with somewhat less coherent vocals.

It will match your amp very well and it sounds much better than older
BP25 or Bryston 1.7 processor(despite of Bryston claims that it is the
same circuit).
My BP26 replaced Simaudio P-5, Ayre K-1, Pass X-1 and plethora of other
preamps including Magnetic Passive.

is !) they will buy another one in a future. The competition among
$1-1.5K dacs is pretty fierce.

not as flexible as ethernet/wifi and
Slimserver. Slimdevices are years ahead as far as user interface is
concerned and I wouldn't be surprised if the big boys such as Krell or
Wadia knock on their door one day asking for a license.

Aha, thanks! I will give it a try when I get a chance.
Is there any significant processor hit due to the extra number
crunching?

the Transporter I would even risk a statement that they sound pretty
close.
It is an extremely versatile devices and I definitely recommend it.

From experience I know that this could be symptom a of digital
attenuation. Anything attenuated more than 3dB will be lifeless and
without dynamics.
Why would you use Transporter to feed another dac? If you don't like it
as a dac get a Sqeezebox otherwise you are wasting your money.

, it would have been modders dream. I agree there is no point in adding
extra pcb in the current model.
Lets hope Transporter 2 can take advantages of it. Mr. Adams?

AKM is releasing their newest miracle dac chip called AK4397.
Those who have tried it claim this is the best dac ever.
Apparently it can be swapped with the AK4396.
Any plans on incorporating it in the current or next Transporter?

Simaudio sounded just like Sennheiser 650 plugged in directly to the
outputs - great pace, palpability, finesse and decisiveness in vocals,
air around instruments.
Transporter through Bryston was luke warm, good bass and body, big
sound but rather slow and uninvolving.

to maintain full resolution of the dac
2. solve the problem for consumers
3. maintain flexibility for pro market

Is Slimdevices looking at this issue?

I wouldn't expect any shattering difference between SB3 and Transporter
if used only as digital source. If thats all you want to do the
Transporter is an overkill.
Try the Transporter using its analog outputs and you may be surprised.
--

Is it possible to use SB3 or Transporter with a network NAS device
without PC/Slimserver being on?
If not are there any plans to include it in a future?
