The NEARs are excellent outdoor speakers and have held up four years
now in bad weather (incl the recent hurricane) w/o a problem. I've
recently become a dealer for Paradigm -- so take this as you will --
but they make excellent outdoor speakers as well.

I used a Cary 303/200 CD player, which has a coax. input, with an SB for
a long time -- works really well. I think the Cary is a great value.

If you're willing to spend a bit more money, the Role Audio Sampan FTLs
are tiny and great. And they don't require a sub.

Can anybody point me toward a modder who can add a word clock input to
my SB3? Want to use it w/the word clock out of my EMM Dac2SE. Thanks.

I run my SB2 into the digital input of my Cary 303/200 player. It is
clearly better sounding than using the analog outs on the SB2, but then
it should be as it cost me about 5x the cost of the SB2.

SB2 == dig. coax input of Cary 303/200 upsampling CD player == VTL 5.5
preamp == Llano mini-monos == Norh 4.0s
Planning on replacing the Llanos w/a tube amp, and upgrading the
speakers soon.
