Hi again,
Yep, the Etymotics can be a little annoying to begin with, but I spoke
with their Tech Support about my problem and they provided me with some
different sized tips for the IEMs and they fit just perfectly now and
are very comfortable...this is why I can sleep on a plane for over

I have a pair of Etymotic ER-4Ps, which sound great with my iPod. The
only downside (besides price) is that they aren't the most comfortable
phones out there. They're essentially good earplugs with built in
speakers, and so sit pretty tighly in the ear canal. It's hard to say

FWIW, I have a pair of Sennheiser PXC 300 noise-cancelling
headphones...and while the noise-cancelling part isn't bad, the sound

I also have a pair of Shure e3c in-ear monitors ($179)

What I am looking for probably doesn't exist but i though i'd ask

I have a pair of Grado SR-80's and old Sennheiser HD 495's
What I am looking for is a new pair of noise cancelling headphones that
sound as good as the Grado's (the best sound I have heard yet in
headphones) , are as
Might I suggest you have a peep over at www.head-fi.org
They've got HEAPS and HEAPS of stuff in their forums on good cans.
Instead of 'noise cancelling' have you considered 'Isolation' based
cans?

Etymotic Research
Shure
Ultimate Ears
