Ok can not other acoustical asymetries be responsible for the difference in sound is it not more likely. I have my main speakers at the same distance within 1mm , but the do not measure or sound the same, because the room is not the same at both ends. -- Mnyb

I'm sure you've already experimented with this, but with those distances, a difference of a few feet would, it seems to me, only move the sweet spot a little off center. I also can't imagine doing much serious listening sitting outdoors on a stone bench, but that's just me. -- Daverz
