Yes...it will. I think that Meridian are looking for the F80 to expand
their customer base which is currently very much hi-fi enthusiast. I

I agree that the relationship is non-linear for sure and that we all
should care deeply about performance. I'm not sure that I (or anyone)
would say value is irrelevant at all. It's interesting to think that
it's probably the SB at relatively low cost that gets us all to this
forum anyway.

I don't get this, personally. I don't think being an audiophile means
you don't care about how much something costs. To me

I absolutely agree, but, Andyoz stated that the improved SQ is not

Even if I had money to burn, I would at least want to listen to them to
see which one has better sound.
I don't buy into the assumption that "more expensive" = "better sound."
Sure
...there is NO simple answer to that question.
The simple answer is actually whatever you want it to be.
Thankfully it's a horses for courses issue.

The simple answer to that is NO
But then again the audiophile market isn't really about value for
money.

As a Meridian user, I did wonder about the price.
£1500 for a table top radio to beat a Boseh
However, £1500 for a CD/DVD/am-fm-DAB radio/clock/2.1 speakers (DSP

Ok, that badge means now't to me,

It's currently £1495 and is launched in the UK first. Not sure what
they said about beyond UK dates. It's only just hitting the stores
this week.

I have seen and heard it and can say that it is a very very interesting
unit. The sound that it produces simply should not be possible from a
unit that small.
If you see one in the stores...go and listen. I guarantee you will be
quite surprised.

Not me, but I bet it sounds amazing. Several reporters have waxed
lyrical, FWIW. It should though, at £1,500 ($3,000) for a boombox!
Digital active speakers may not be to everyone's taste, but they are
certainly the way to go with such a gadget.

What I like about Meridian is they have always pushed the active speaker

It would be a dream Squeezeboombox - you want an SB inside, not just
plugged in!
I spoke to some guys at Meridian a while back; they all love the
Squeezebox, and have loads at their factory. A link-up could be a
great opportunity for SD to get some serious audiophile kudos...
