The Connoisseur cables work well with the SB, Tact and digital amps but
not with the DAX. The DAX worked better with Krystal Kable's Silver
Mercury or The Missing Link Reference (the Silver Mercury had the
edge).

Gary,
thanks, I will follow that thread.
I know of Tony's cables but never really tried them in my system.
I forgot to mention the power conditioning. Yes, I do have one, my own
design (I was a digital design engineer before I move into management,
with few years experience ;) ). It definately

I didn't have the SB3 when I had the Tact/Big Ben, I had the Off-Ramp

I know what you mean about the Tact robbing the music, I couldnt live
without it though since I have a nigthmare of a room. Since I modified
the Tact with a better PSU, better isolation transformers on the
inputs, Black Gates and much better quality caps in the critical areas,
it is better

and an Apogee Big Ben after the Tact). I lived with that for a while
with a Meridian G

Super clocked or not, your DAC will still have to recover the timing

Hi guys,
I am using the digital out of the SB3 with an external linear PSU
feeding a Tact RCS2.0 into a DAX Decade DAC into a TVC pre and the
power amps are Nuforce Ref9s driving Vienna Accoustics Mahler speakers.
I am quite happy with this set up but I slightly prefer the sound when I
