Would anyone here recommend a line balancing transformer, using the unbalanced analog output and placing the unbalanced cables into this transformer and then putting balanced cables from the transformer to the inside house amp? I have no idea if this would work properly or would it degrade the

Personally, I would use the AES/EBU output of the TP to drive a long digital cable to a suitable DAC near your outside amp. Then use the TP balanced analogue output to your inside amp. Normally outside systems do not have the absolute highest fidelity anyway (YMMV). This is what AES/EBU was

By all means keep it balanced all the way to your amp, and use a 'Jensen PC-2XR' (http://www.jensentransformers.com/pc2xr.html) between your preamp and amp. -- NewBuyer NewBuyer's Profile:

My main system is balanced XLR all the way from Transporter to Amplifier Mono Blocks including the M5-HP crossovers for the Vandersteens. I know one thing, it can't hurt anything. At a minimum it would be the same as the unbalanced RCAs, but my opinion is it is almost always better. IMHO, go

Everything is a factor.. IMHO all microscopic compared to good speakers, speaker placement, and room acoustics. Things like major impedance mismatches can be a huge problem, but I've never seen those types of problems myself. -- SuperQ
