Just replace the two small capacitors at the bottom of the power supply.
I replaced the two bottom ones near the connector. The really small
cap on the side. Then the bigger one.
The power supply is better than new. Cost me under $8.00CAN

Good luck. My 3 arrived in the U.S. via DHL. No customs or other fees.

You likely hear about Canada complaints more often due to the shear
volume of consumer products being shipped between US/Canada.
We ship industrial chemicals from US to Canada regularly and it is a
crazy system that even the customs brokerage personnel get confused on.
Canada has has up to four

I bought a $175 item from the US

I often read about complaints from people using couriers for delivery,
mostly online purchases from the US. These are almost always about a
"surprise" fee on delivery because

Nope - here as well and there is a hefty minimum charge (used to be
about 50).
I suppose but when I do a search for brokerage fees, 98% of the
complaints I read are from Canada.

Unfortunately they do it in other places too.

It's all apart of the Great Canadian Cash Grab. No where else in the
world does DHL charge a handlng (aka cash grab) fee. Only Canada. Same
goes with UPS and Fedex Ground.

As noted, I bought two and paid for both the product and the shipping.
Shipping to Canada was actually as much as the product. Then I got a
notification from DHL that I needed to pay tax and customs processing on
top, that is an extra $20. Since tax is only 13% of the product cost,

I'd keep the second in case one of them was a dud. Although I doubt that

I have just purchased 2 items. "Just in case". Both my Transporters are
now 7 years... One of them is purchased used, so I am not sure about the
age here.
Thanks for this information. I really love my Transporters..

yep. Heck I bought a new in box Transporter just to keep as a spare, so
the powersupplies as spares are an easy decision!

Yes - they ship to the US - and do so very quickly.
Shipping isn't exactly cheap, but it is fast. I paid $55 for two
PSU's, including shipping. PSU's were $12/each while shipping was $31.

The replacement supply has the same connectors and screw holes - it's a
straight swap. Unplug input and output connectors, remove four screws,
remove old power supply. Reverse to install new one.
mkbrucetx's Profile:
It's super easy. Once you have the cover open you just have to remove a
couple screws and two connectors, and then replace the PSU.

Ugh! Ron will try.
LMS on a dedicated server (FitPC3)

Touch (WiFi) - home theater 5.1, Sony receiver, Energy speakers
Boom 1 (WiFi) - work-space
Boom 2 (WiFi) -
I have never owned a Transporter.
But, and much to my surprise, several threads exist that attribute
wireless, remote and other malfunctions - especially on Touches- on
failing power supplies. I honestly never realized PS were as likely to
age worse than the device itself.

The PSU is for more than just the screen. The number one issue that the
Transporter's posses is not turning on -at all- after about 5 to

So I take it you are unplugging it when not in use? You should only hear
the relay when plugging it in. I suggest you either just keep it plugged
in or buy a new PSU. From what I've read around here, 80 to 90% of the
Squeezebox issues are related to the power supply. The one in the

If I start my Transporter from "cold", it can literally take 15 minutes
to come to life.
I hear the relay click then nothing until it bursts into life.
After its comes to life, I can turn its power off and on (via my PS
Audio P500 power regenerator) and it will instantly come to life.
