remove power from transporter, then point remote at transporter while
holding the 1 key. While holding the 1 key, restore power to
transporter. Should see something on screen at this point

Disconnect power to TP, Hold down the 1 button on the remote, reconnect
power while IR button is still pressed - you will see on screen

You don't need to physically unplug the power to perform a reset. Just
hold down the power button on the remote and it will reboot. As soon as
you see the logo on the VFD after the reboot, hold down 1 on the
remote until you see the message that the xilinx is being reset.

Nothing connected to the FX loop. just the RCA coax connected to the
digital input and the RCA cables on the analogue out.

couple of things to try.
on the oppo, make sure the PCM bit rate is set no higher than 96khz,
for CDs. on the mini, open the Sound Preference pane and make sure the
toslink output is selected.
i've had trouble with the digital inputs as well, usually fixed by
rotating the TP volume knob; this

UGH.
Got my new TP yesterday. Removed my cdp, which had been working fine,
and hooked the TP up to my mono power amps' unbalanced inputs (no
pre-amp used) w/RCA ics into the TPs unbalanced analog outputs(will
switch to balanced soon).
Setup went smoothly. I have a Squeezebox already and know
Settings Choose Outputs Analog RCA??
