Just wondering if anyone would know where I could hire or have donated

You can get them at well-stocked camera stores for about $200-ish
(or even less).
They require a 12V external power
We have two you can hire for a couple of weeks... give me a
call in a few weeks after Oshkosh on 07 5568 7770 Thanks

Mini DV is the wrong camera, you need one with analogue input
as the digital versions of lipstick cams are more than $5k
each.

Most mini-DV cameras -do- have an analogue video input.

Guys and Gals,
What is the scope and target audience of the proposed Gliding Movie?
The reason I am asking is, I have recently seen some great sport
presentations 30 to 60 minutes on sports including paragliding, canoeing,
scuba, and they make the activities look very exciting. I have not seen
This should attract people to gliding who may have written the sport off as
not for them because of misconceptions.

this project (like, lucy learns to fly) sounds like something the gfa and

G'day SDF and all,

One of the great problems with cool music is that it costs BIG $$$ to
license its use legally.
A few years ago at our Forbes summer camp, a local who did all sorts of
documentaries, etc. came out and filmed during a day or two's flying, all
using professional equipment. He got a couple

Sorry what i meant to say is you cant use firewire and expect
digital video, you must have a analogue input. It will record
onto digital tape but the quality is only analogue, which is
good enough for most aplications.

Guys and Gals,
It sounds like some of us have had similar
thoughts, and some have done some research,
great feedback.
Some of the material I have seen on Fox recently
does not seem to have huge budgets, however they
have been very well put together. I am not
talking in terms
does this mean you can can fly in cloud until somebody gets video of you
doing it??rob

From what I have seen of the GFAs gliding promotions program is that it is
constrained by old fashion thinking and/or a lack of budget, and some
clubs who are happy where they are, doing what they are doing now.
Definitely old fashioned thinking.
Lisa Turner tells me that you can use whatever music you like, as long as it
is for 30 seconds or less. I'm sure if you picked 29 second graps of songs
that fit what is going on in the video with some dialogue it might sound
OK.Certainly better than silence.

I am sure that many QGA Members have fed ideas to Ralph
Henderson in response to his e-mail last week. I certainly included the
