Michael, the Boonah Gliding Club ( 07 54632630 ) is already successfully launching using pulleys and a car, with a 2:1 , i.e. car drives at 50km/h to achieve a 100km/h at the glider. You can see this running at Boonah, their airfield useable is around 900 metres only, with 1300ft launches. Cheer
