With the exception of last season, do we really need 10+ days to declare a

Good point but, your statement that most if not all comps & training camps
for next season are already known, is actually not correct.
Events for 2012 that I know are scheduled at this point are:
1. FAI Worlds/Pre-Worlds
32nd Un-Flapped Pre-World Gliding Championships Argenti
Actually, my apologies, I have just been corrected regarding Women In
Gliding Week and Squad Week (thank you Mandy).
Women in Gliding is before Benalla this year 31st Dec to 6th Jan and Squad
Week is 19th to 25th March.
So my point is that apart from the three events that are always schedul

Thanks Ross, I'm happy to be corrected on the points that you make, but there
is still nothing on next years calender & this is the point I'm trying to make.
I would imagine that the clubs & state bodies would have a good idea of what
events they are running next season.
