Hi,
Just attempted to updated my Swiss Flarm this weekend and turned it into an
expensive paperweight. Fortunately two well known members of WGC ( thanks
again) pooled their combined knowledge and many hours later it became a semi
useful part of the airframe again. Was about to scrap all elect
I seem to recall a lot of time and effort being put into extending the life of
fibreglass gliders back in the distant past with the fatigue testing of the
Janus wings by the RMIT.
I believe this contributed to the original life extensions past 3000 hrs. I'm
sure some one on this forum can enlig

Hi Neville, Just caught up on my aus-soaring entertainment.
Don't be put off by the "slightly" negative responses you had and I sure the
intention was good if not the delivery. There are many home/kit built still
flying in Aus (I own one) and we test flew a mate of mine only a couple of
years
Hi Patch,
I agree with your comments on misconceptions regarding glue failure etc in the
natural composite machines. Its unfortunate that unless you speak out these
misconceptions ( structual and performance) are passed on to the newer
generation of pilots as facts and it still amuses me whe
Done the same as scott a while ago to my foka 5. If your used to rigging a/c is
fairly obvious though tragically in this case they had only seen it done once
according to article. Hopefully lessons can be learnt from these tragic events

Many thanks to those who posted today to make my point "we have a
bunch of glider pilots exhibiting the same failure of imagination and
unwillingness to try anything new or different."
Glad to help out, not the least bit offended. God i love this group, so
entertaining. Maybe we can make join
I personnaly like the hard copy mag (havent seen the new one yet as in outback
WA) and also like the classified included as first place i look. Ive lent quite
a few to guys on site, when they eventually get sick of reading the same
Picture or Zoo mag, and had a few come for a fly with me. The
Being the owner of a Foka5 and having rigged it many times it is actually very
hard to rig it incorrectly
Don't get me wrong, sometimes it can all be a bit of a pig to line up,but if the
correct rigging tool is used you would need superhuman strength to pull the
centre location tab through the s

Couldnt agree more. Nice to see some input from the recreational side of
gliding (not soaring) which is often overlooked nby this forum.
Im in the same boat with 4 airworthy vintage gliders (and 2 being rebuilt)
that all have weight issues (im a healthy? 100kgs) and would effectively be
