[Aus-soaring] ASIC

2013-12-20 Thread John O'Neill
All, Just in the process of renewing my ASIC. Cost is $200.50 for 2 years. Cost of an AVID is $152.00 for 5 years, but you can't acess a security controlled Australian airport with one of these. Any comments? John.<><>___ Aus-soaring mailing list Aus-

[Aus-soaring] ASIC fines

2010-03-17 Thread Texler, Michael
Failure to display an ASIC when required was $550 fine back in 2005, don't know what it is now. Can't recall off the top of my head but are there clubs in Australia that share ops with RPT, so an ASIC is required, or have these clubs successfully managed a procedure to avoid ASIC requirements? _

We went through Longreach and Mt Isa in July 2012. To get out of Longreach AD we had to show the card to the camera and talk on intercom so we could get the code to get back in. Mt Isa required the physical presence of the council security jerk and the card. You don't need one until suddenly y

Mark King has it correct. Apparently the legislation says 2 years from completion of security check. You never know, you might become a jihadi between 2 years and 2 years and 3 weeks. Trouble is you don't know how long the security check will take so you might be without your card for a whil
