Craig Why do you need to manually edit both customer/Vendor Tax Groups and the item tax group. The vat posting is determined by the intersection of customer and item groups. So if you have different vat regimes for different sales then you would normally only need to change the customer group.

No experience with Nod32, but I can tell you that a lot of anti-virus packages nowadays implement some sort of rudimentary firewall, so I am not surprised if that seems to be the problem.   Cisco clients are only blocking when running, so that shouldn't be a constant source of the problem.
