Last thing is validate the journal to accept only the dimension that is under that structure, because if you know the dimension name, you can type in.

I have done a project same at you needed, and is little comlicate.
1) Create a new form to allow the hierarchy structure using a Tree.
2) Create a new field on the Dimension table to held the parent Dimension
3) Change the lookup to display only the dimension that is under the structure.
Diego

If multiple compnaies are being used, items codes can be maintained
for each company independently. The company item table should be
put in the vcirtual area. The company item can be linked to an item
in each company.

be able to delete items from his user menues.
I have users who are able to do anything in their
user menus but delete items they have added by mistake. If I add them to the

James,
How
did you import - and from what ? Did you just use *.dat / *.def files
?
If so,
you might have problems posting, since some values in the journal lines could be
"not initialised". We solved this problem by actually 1) importing from external
files, 2) copying

Title: Max Journal lines
James,
I am
not able to help you with a "recommended" number of journal
lines.
However, we recently imported data into Ax3.0 SP3, and we in fact did
split up the journals in chunks of 2.000 lines. This worked just
fine.
Our
first attempt was to import 25.000
