Our Ax application (Ax3SP4) holds 20 different company accounts. During the
initial installation the data for the first company was placed in DAT, while
all subsequent companies were placed in separate accounts, eg. ABC, DEF etc.
Now, I would like to copy DAT onto another company
Has anyone ever connected Dynamics AX to a web service for the purpose
of automatically updating exchange rates automatically?
Was this a custom programming effort? Or a third party tool?

Yes Mary,
You can get the latest exchange rate by using web services. After
Registering your web service using Service Reference you can use its method
/Properties in your X++ code.
I have used http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx/ web service
for currency Conversion

atleast 10 times per day. How can we handle this in Ax?
We need to know the price of an item at any earlier point of date and

For a big installation, I have noticed that Inventory Valuation By Item
Group is far more accurate that Inventory Valuation By Dimension.
The difference seems to be that the report by Item Group correctly takes
account of the situation where there is a positive Financial Quantity
and a Negative
