I think there was an "old" meaning for Dona (that's where the nobility comes
in) and there is also a "new" meaning for the title.

Unfortunately, if you think the the originals were in that condition, then
you won't find anything more legible.

I believe the Portuguese spelling is Inacio. But, the priest weren't always
Portuguese.

I have a death record of an ancestor, and it lists his mother as from
the Azores, with her name as Harriet. Is there a Portuguese equivalent
to Harriet?
