Can anyone do a footnote lookup - I keep hitting the dreaded brick
wall.
I am trying another angle on my search for the Lajes do Pico sisters
(Maria & Francisca). Their parents were Maria Sao Jose and Manuel
Machado. I am wondering if it is possible that they used their
mothers maiden

Not sure? I do have relatives in the Antioch area. I only became aware of
them in the past year, so Siskiyou is certainly a possibility.

I got lucky on this one- it was in a handful of family papers that were
passed to me last summer. I've not been able to find a copy of it anywhere
else, which makes me glad that somebody hung onto it!

Yes...they do still celebrate Holy Ghost Festival there in Hawkinsville...every
year it is smaller and smaller as the old timers pass on. My dad use to be a
