scarcely shorter than -- "Misters" (i.e., the plural of Mr.). One
still occasionally sees it used in newspaper engagement and wedding

I hate to bother you again but you have helped me so much! I was looking at
familysearch.org for the films for Sao Jose parish in Ponta Delgada. There
are 2 listed. I was wondering if you could tell me which parish I might
need, or if I should order both. The listings are:

In Sao Miguel rua do Conde (Conde Street) in Ponta Delgada was in the Parish
of Sao Jose. I believe the name changed to rua Doutor Joao Francisco de
Sousa (Doctor Joao Francisco de Sousa street).

This lady was my gg grandmother. Oscar Pacheco Horta was my g grandfather.
When he came to the US he stayed in New Bedford. The family story is that
his brother, Francisco was a Professor in Brazil.
Now I wonder where Conde St. was. The family was supposedly from Ponta
Delgada, Sao Miguel.

translator. I knew something was lost in the translation. I thought I better
ask
someone who knew the language. This came form the Portuguese newspaper from
UMass Dartmouth.
