I think probably all genealogy programs today can handle this. I think
it's maybe that we just don't know because some of us haven't encountered
multiple parents in our trees.

Cheri, you're correct; FTM will allow for multiple marriages. It won't show
actively if you are looking at the marriage relationship of the second spouse,
but it is there and will show in reports that are printed.

I just figured out what is the question.
In families where parents remarry, children have always have more than
two parents. Adopted children also have more than two parents.
According to what two professional genealogical organizations told me,

Even PAF, which is not that sophisticated, allows users to define a
template to include whatever data one desires to record. Can you say,
parent one- two- three... of course! Or, primary parent, secondary
parent, etc... I'm not sure about half cousins, though, I already have
too many full cousins!

It is not quite that simple. They (the parents of new newborn) due to
their circumstances may have had no choice in the matter and were unable to
participate in the church. Due to church rules they may have not been able
to make good their situation which would render them unable to atten

In my opinion, you only record birth parents. There is a note section in
most software to enter data such as adoptions, multiple marriages with
no children, or any other type of data that a individual thinks is
pertinent. One of my great grand mothers was placed in the wheel of the

when searching ancestry, sometimes it says civil then lists a state. But when
you open the hint it says nothing about what the civil is. When hopefully it
would give you an event in a persons life line...
