That's the right Maria who married. He did not have that child for the
couple. But now there's a parish and he can now get into the CCA records.

Thanks for all your help. I'm not entirely sure if he's got the age of the
bride and groom right (the groom is 15 years younger?) I'll have to think

In Lajes do Pico, there are 2 António José Vieiras, each married to a Maria da
Trindade. One was 31 years old when he married n 1872. He is the son of João
José Vieira and Maria de Jesus. The bride, age 17, is the daughter of António
Caetano de Mendonça and Catarina da Trindade Vie
No dice, Cheri. I checked every parish. I also looked for a Jose Antonio
Vieira with same spouse & parents. Nope.

to Francisca Trindade, born about 1850 somewhere on Flores.
Antonio's parents are supposed to be Jose Francisco Vieira & Roza Maria
Mendonça and Francisca's parents are supposed to be J
There are several Portuguese/English dictionaries online. Can anyone
recommend a good one (easy to use) that will help me before and during my
trip to the Azores in May? I can speak some Spanish. Will that help me be
understood in Portuguese? Thanks again.

to get a kit to test my Mom but I waited a bit too long because she just died
