Sorry to hear of your mothers passing, A Family Finder DNA test would produce about the same results if it were taken on any of your mothers siblings. Otherwise the only option is for you to take the test. The major difference in testing between yourself and your mother is one generation. So instead of going back to connections around 1800 you only go to about 1826.
