If you count up four lines you will see where the priest wrote out Joao
Sylveira in slightly better penmanship, I think it is the name you are
looking for,but I am by no means an expert.
Also I thought your name looked familiar,so I checked FF on FTDNA and found

Hi Anthony,
Thanks for letting me know I think it's really neat that I share DNA with
people from so many islands. I don't have as many matches with people with

Hello Antonio,
I noticed on Gedmatch that I match to both you and your mother. My
Portuguese side is from Terciera I have not found a Pico link yet. I will
have to see if you show up in my FF list on FTDNA.

Al,
I research Flores, and have access to all available books and data bases. I
also have relatives on the island who may be able to search locally.
Contact my private email.

Carl,
What was your grandfather's name, where did he live in the US, what
were his wife and children's names? We can help you better if we have

1980s or 1990s. He moved to Ponta Delgada in the late 1970s, after my
grandmother died in 1977.

I have done quite a lot of research on my family line from Flores, as well
as researched for other people on their Flores lines.
If you are interested, you can email to my personal email.
Thanks,

I am wondering if anyone can recommend a person who does research for the
island of Flores. If you have used someone and liked their service that
would be very helpful.
