Thanks Rosemarie for finding this. I think it would be great if they would do
it and find the funding for somebody(s) to transcribe as it’s a huge job.
But... I don’t want to discourage our group from doing some now because of a
couple reasons. 1. Who knows if they will even get the funding. 2.
Joe that’s great. Do you want to send me what you did and we can go from there.
I was hoping other researchers had done an index or two. Please email me at
fpimentel at hotmail.com
Thanks Fernando

Ok great! Does anyone else want to contribute. For the marriages we have
1705-1743 and 1743-1763. Of course we have the baptism as well. I’m ok at
deciphering records and I think it will take me a couple of weeks, so I does
take some time. But I think it will be very helpful and as Terri
In a previous post I found out that Terri Santos had transcribed and made
available an index of Sao Pedro in VF (which was helpful). I thought that
instead of going through the records over and over I should create an index and
hopefully the extra work up front would pay off after. Also once
The reason I’m curious about the Canto index is because the list that Terri
compiled for S Pedro has names on the Canto index that were not on the CCA
books. Do the archives allow copying (photographs, photocopies)? Thanks

Terri, thanks for doing the index. Where or how did you get the Canto index? Do
you have the index for Matriz? Thanks Fernando

Thanks for the info. I could use the Achada copy if you don’t mind posting.
Does anyone else in this group have a copy of the other churches?

Thanks Cheri! So to be clear, the index listed is not for all marriages in that
church for the years. He only has “important” marriages listed as maybe that’s
the lines he was researching? This still maybe helpful, so how do I get a copy
of the manuscripts?
Thanks Fernando

Cheri,
Can you tell us a bit about this index. Was this a book he wrote, is it
available online, is it accurate, etc.
Thanks, Fernando

I used https://geneall.net - I think it was created by 4 or 5 Portuguese
historians. It has current people as well and you can contribute, but I think
it goes through a vetting process. The noble lines are color coded so it’s easy
to follow. If you just want to look at previous kings, go to the
