It's possible that the cousin connection I am looking for is through the first
wife - we believe our common relative is Manuel Jose de Bettencourt - if you

I have one other child of theirs in my database, Anselmo born 1875 (Image
#8 Norte Gande Baptisms) and three other children by his first marriage to
Mariana Josefa de Bettencourt (3rd & 4th cousins, mrd 5 Nov 1832, NG) so
we may find more info once the dispensations for Sao Jorge are
My second great grandparents were Manuel Jose de Bettencourt and Ana
Severina Baptista married in 1856 in Norte Grande. I have Baptism record of
one child Victoria Soares de Bettencourt born Feb 18, 1861 in Santo
Antonio. my great grandmother.
