Hello All:
At the top of the matches screen on the FTDNA site there are four tabs ALL,
Paternal, Maternal, Both. On the paternal tab, I am showing 21 matches with

maternal match (3rd cousin, 1 time removed), but the
I don't want to reload a new gedcom at this time as I still have lots
of additions to make to my tree so for now will use your other ideas to
keep track. I guess I can do the same for an mtdna match. Have one
confirmed link in 1600's. Thx for all your help.
Judy
On Friday, September 15,
I'd put the person in my personal software and make a new Gedcom and over
ride what is there on FTDNA. The current tree does not handle endogamy well
at all. Then I'd link the person to the closest relation.
Then go back to your Matches page. By the name, there's an envelope to
email your match,
Judy, I'm sure that Cheri can help you with that but it may take a while.
She is working from her phone for a while and may not be able to 'see' the
connections!

I have a match showing as a 2nd-3rd cousin with 136 cms of dna. After
checking I found that the person is related to both my grandfathers on
both sides of their families and multiple times (something like 10
links!). What I'm wondering is if their is any way to mark that entry
somehow as a
Hi Mary, I guess I am a member of the Azores FTDNA project, since I used
them to have my DNA checked. My Azorean background is through my paternal
grandfather, Joaquim Inacio Neves. He was born in Ribeirinha, Pico, in 1875. My
paternal grandmother was born in California, but her father,

No you are not a member of the Azores DNA project.
Family Tree DNA is a testing company that can run different types of DNA
tests for genealogy. They are the only company that has projects run by
administrators (all volunteers). There is no cost to join any project at

Hello cousin!
You match my mother. I see some other names that she matches. You and I
don't show a match but both my mother and I match other people on your
list. My great grandparents were from Sao Jorge, Azores. One of my
grandmother's cousins was born in Brazil and came to the US so his
You match my paternal uncle! That side if the family is from Sao Miguel,
Flores, Graciosa, and Corvo!

Hi, everybody!Starting to research my mother's Family (Mello) which came from
the Azores to Florianópolis, Santa Catarina state, Brazil. I still haven't
found the link between the Azores and Florianópolis. My FTDNA test results drive

I thought I would mention this FYI - I just received an email from someone
that we had a match we have a DNA match. Did anyone of you family come
from (and he named a state)? His last name does not match any of my
testee's. I have quite a few extended family members and friends that I
oversee.
I just got my Family Finder results. Really excited to work through it, I
recognized some names on this list! Now have to recreate my Gedcom which I
made years ago but was lost with multiple computer failures. I am
surprised at how many matches I got from my mother's side! I don't

Since you are not a member of the Azores DNA group, the admins can't help
you interpret the results. You'll have to go through the Frequently Asked

Cheri,
Thanks for the reply. In checking the results, it lists in the 2nd column
Y-DNA 12 but I was under the impression she had ordered 37 so I am not sure
if anymore matches from her dad will be forthcoming although she states
there are more coming? She did send to me and 2 others we
Hi Elaine,
I just verified with FTDNA...that 2nd column will display how far out they
have tested, not what was ordered. So your new match has the first 12
markers in, but you think they ordered 37. The 2nd column will say Y-DNA
12 because their test is in progress. When the 25 comes in, the
HI Elaine,
On the match page, in the 2nd column, it will say if they did a Y-DNA 37 or
a Y-DNA 67 test. So if they did go out to 25 or 37, you will get the
notification if you match them. And if the match's DNA is coming in, they
release it as it gets done.

I just received notification of another 12 marker match on our McNeal
family. I believe the person did a 37 marker. Do they do this in bits and
pieces and will I get 25/37 marker match info also. I am excited about
this as our other match is a 37-1 and I this is a different son of the
