Could anyone tell me where exactly the jewish cemetery is in Faial. I am
from there and frequent my hometown of Praia do Norte. I am very curious
about this cemetery and would love to find it.

Noelia - The Jewish Cemetery is in Horta (La cidade da Horta) and was built in
1852. That's as close as I can get to an address!

It is in a corner of the Horta cemetery. These are jewish families that
came to Faial from Morocco, part of the Bensaude family.

mtDNA however only tells you about one ancestor as you probably know. It
sounds like your maternal line traces to Sao Joao Pico, My fathers maternal
line traces to the same freguesia in the 1600's to a Maria Martins but I
