I checked my FTDNA account of which I have 171 matches in the Azores
project. Of that 171 only 68(40%) people have uploaded a gedcom.
That's pretty sad that if you take the time to submit a sample that you
can't take the time to submit a gedcom.

What is pretty sad is that people like you are telling people like me to post
it for your convenience.
We do have other responsibilities that you are unaware of and posting the
gedcom isn't at the top of the list for me. This would be an ideal world if we
all had the time to post them at
I've been trying to upload my Gedcoms for over a week,. Every attempt has
turned up a warning that it is down for maintanence.

Better yet, just post the memorial number.
Here's the one for Manuel de Mello that I posted a few minutes ago:

Copy and paste that link into the search on Find A Grave and it will take
you right to the memorial and then I won't see all the Find A Grave
messages in the group spam filter!

Hello posters,
I'm with Cheri. Let's get back to genealogy. Nancy Jean gets my vote
too. I comb everything for clues, thoughts etc. Then delete as needed.
Off to Sao Jorge in a few days. Gonna walk in grandpa's footsteps.
I'll try to contain myself.
Best,

I agree with Linda. I may not post to the list, as I don't have a lot to
contribute, but seeing the recipes' and other information that we may not
get any other way. My Grandparents dies when I was jut 34, so to learn what
was going on and the reason they may have come is important. I
It seems to me that it would be very easy to keep this group strictly
on message (i.e. genealogy content only) and move all other
discussions to the FaceBook azores site where the discussion could be
of a more general nature.

Of course, some people never post and often they reply privately.
Everyone has different needs and levels of involvement. There is so
much experience in the people on the list, and maybe it comes out
little by little. I am sure grateful for all the help I have
received.
That said, I am not going
