[backstage] TV-Anytime Feeds

Hiya, Over the weekend something seems to have gone wrong with the TV Anytime feeds as all the data files are extremely small and contain no program info. Could someone have a look and give the server a kick Thanks Adam For example "more 20070521BBCOne_*" :: 20070521BBCOne_cr.xm

Hi, A contact has suggested that this is a good place to ask this... The Glastonbury Festival webcams are not working and haven't been since 12 May, I am trying to find someone at the BBC who can fix this. I work as a moderator on Glastonbury's official messageboards and we have a lot of question

Hi, Thanks for reporting this. We had some problems with our central fileserver machine over the weekend, so it's taking time to get everything back working again. The latest file should be up there reasonably soon. Andrew BBC Research On Mon, May 21, 2007 at 12:20:41PM +0100, Adam Leach wrote

Since I'm at home tending a cold, I thought I'd do some reconfiguring of my "iGoogle" page (that's what they insist on calling the Google personalised homepage these days - Steve Jobs has a lot to answer for). I thought I might look at the current BBC News gadgets, and write a nicer one (which gi

It's not ordered editorially; it's ordered by time of last update of that story. So, right now: http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_uk_edition/front_page/rss.xml - Blaze ravages historic Cutty Sark - Terror charge man freed on bail - High marks for six forms But http://news.bbc.co.uk/nolpda

That's not what I'm seeing. All three of those URLs are exactly the same content in the same order for me (different formats though, obviously). Perhaps something is caching, or taking longer to update, hence the disparity? Someone from News will chime in no doubt. J __

It seems that iGoogle sorts the feed by pubDate, so the editorial order in the original feed is lost. Incidentally, for me http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_uk_edition/front_page/rss.xml and http://news.bbc.co.uk/nolpda/ukfs_news/hi/default.stm show exactly the same order, it's only when add

Interesting idea - look forward to seeing your gadget :-) I did try to write a prototype which flattened out the front page of news.bbc.co.uk into a big Google News style page. Perhaps I could dig that out and modify the output. If you have not tried yet, Google gadgets are pretty easy to write.
