I'm doing a smb type backup and I recieve tons of errors like this in
the Xfer.log:

Hi, I'm a new user to BackupPC and so am also new to the mailing list.
Sorry, but I will probably be having quite a few "newbie" questions over
the next few days as I try to get this thing working properly. My
current problem seems to be a seteuid problem. If I go to the web
interface, I get

We are running successfully cygwin sshd and rsync on winxp / win2000 and win 98 too.
It had given excellent result.
you need to create proper ssh key authentication for backuppc.
try to create administrator user in windows pc and add ssh key base authentication between windows and linux backup s

I can't help much with that distro. On fedora you would
yum install perl-suidperl

Just wanted to write back and say thanks for all the help today! I have
the system working backing up two PCs, and it seems to work great! I
ended up running backuppc as the apache user to get past the user
problem, and then I used the smb protocol for the windows machine. So
we have working

Are you using a normal install from www.cygwin.com or
a modified package? I just did an update to mine and
it still stall
