Hi,
I'm using bacula on my Linux machines for quite some time now and it

I just set mine up today. I started with Landon's configuration, but
one thing I noticed is that (based on watching with tcpdump) I wasn't
getting an encrypted connection from the FD to the SD. I had to add

I'm haveing some trouble getting bacula set up. When I start

There is no need to be sorry. I wasn't criticizing you only trying to help you
get organized to understand Bacula. You (and a number of other users) are in

Sorry a bit of a newbie to bacula.
I purged the Thursday volume and then set it to status recycle. What's
confusing me is why it accepted the Thursday volume for one job and then
changed it's status to "Used" and then asked for the 3_monday fo r the
last two jobs.
It's almost acting like the tape
Thanks. SourceForge has recently re-arranged their whole site. I could not

If I am not mistaken, the exact rules that Bacula uses for recycling and for
selecting the next tape (two different alorithms) are written in the manual.
If you have those in front of you, it makes it a lot easier to understand
what how Bacula chooses the next tape.

Hello,
I have released the second BETA version 1.38.3 (14 December 2005) as a tar

algorithm that hopefully will improve situations where users were finding all
jobs waiting to reserve a drive. I've also reworked the way Bacul
I only have one pool "Default". Its actually asking for another volume in the
same pool...I'm just not sure why it's doing that after running the first job.
Here's the pool:

i need mroe info to help you on that one .. your pool and media setup
would help a lot
right now it sounds like it wanted a volume from another pool ...

Hello Kern,
do you think that this problem also affects me? My plan was to test
the beta (released 10. Dec) and two drives today with a new tape set.

Dear all,
The subject says it all: Does the FileDaemon supports saving/restoring
ACLs ? I am intrested mainly in the Windows native version, but also
if the Unix version supports ACLs via Samba/XFS/etc.
Thanks,
