Hello,
You are getting quite high throughputs so I suspect that the performance
enhancements in 2.1.10 are kicking in. It would be interesting to see what
the job output from version 2.0.3 for the same backup.

Hi List
On WinXP SP2 and W2k3 I can't restore the "old" Attributes (eg hidden
or archive) of dierectories.
The restore of the Attributes of files even ntuser.dat works.
The restore of the NTFS-ACLs works also.
FS is NTFS VSS is enabled and compression is gzip1.
The Bacula-Version is 2.0.3 from so
~85% is user, and the bacula report says compression is off:

I've done a bunch of testing since my last post, and the slowdown
appears to be CPU usage on the client file daemon (bacula-fd). bacula-fd
consumes all the cpu resource it can get, and tends to transfers data
faster (40 MB/s) on to the director on a machine with better CPU, even

I am curently backing up ~400 Windows clients every night. I have 4 (soon to
be five) 800 GB arrays to which the volumes are being written. Everything is
running quite well with one exception. Two of the four storage servers
display the following message five or six times a night:

Hi,
Is it possible to mount the actual tape where the backup will run with
runbeforejob?
So I have a job which needs a tape and I would mount this tape with
runbeforejob
with the job which will need the tape? (I would do this with an external
script which
will call the bconsole utility)

Hello,
Currently when bat attempts to connect to the Director (or any other daemon),
the error messages if any are most likely lost -- the original code wasn't
written for a GUI. I'm working on getting them to properly display, and will
probably provide an API feature where error messages can

I want to eject the tape after backup. I found somesthing like 'Run
after backup = "script_with_bconsole_umount_and_shell_eject', but it
seems to me a bit dumpy. Is it possible to do it (I mean umount and
eject) in the director config or some other (cleaner) way?
