Michael,
My post wasn't meant to be in any way critical, I was just pointing out
the issue. There are some folks who like to use a window in the corner
of the screen to enjoy their music. There are lots of music player
softwares about that will scale down to be operable at small screen
sizes.
The latest nightly has fixed the problem :)
But the Settings pages are still doing that 'Double Refresh' thing.
I'll try grab some screenshots, if I can figure out how.

Ok, it's no longer visible on your screen, but did you ever try the
Undock feature?

Have you logged a bug and attached an example m3u file.
If you do a full clear library/re scan, do the same playlists go
missing?

So why not present a restart button to the user on which
the perl script just exits (with exit status = 0)?
No bad idea. Do you know whether ther .rpm version does a similar thing? And
then we'd have to find a solution for Windows and OSX as well...

Managed to get some screenshots of what I'm seeing.
IE7 - Default skin - Settings page.
The first shows the initial load. (before4)
If I then click on the 'Basic Settings' tab, it does a double refresh,
and theres two audible clicks.
It leaves an extra white line underneath the tabs. (after4)

I have at least one compilation album with an AlbumArtist tag. I've
marked it with an explicit Compilation=1 tag. But I see your point -
it could just as easily

Of course you know the answer to that one..not recently...
Still I wait for the facility to cook toast and make tea.

All good and nice. Could you please add this to Jim's bug report? In here it

Sure, although I was hoping to get some feedback, that my summary and
suggestions were in fact correct!

Great, I uploaded last night's build (1-17) and it resolved the problem
with remote computers not showing the player connected. Also, I look
forward to the bugs being resolved for the Rhapsody service, since
that's the primary way I listen to music with the Squeezebox.
You guys have done a
Really? In cases like this I do it the other way around. I would
never want Page and Plant to appear in the Browse Artists list,
only Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. And I would want this album to
appear under *both*. To achieve this, I tag as follows:

Thanks for reporting this. While I can't prevent the double audible click, I've
got rid of the whitespace in change 16385.

Well, I have just rerun the scan (by mistake) and it appears that the
problem is back.
I.e., the scan *only* completes if there is no library. You have to
manually delete the cache before rescanning to successfully complete.
Anyone else seeing this?

oh, I thought that was solved by configuring the virus scanner?
I don't know of any other cause for a bail due to a problem with *.MYD
or *.MYI files.
