Maybe generating four thumbnails for every artwork image wasn't such a
good idea? What happens when somebody is embedding images in audio
files for every track instead of using a cover/folder.jpg? Does it
generate four thumbnails for every track? Yikes.
Maybe only pre-cache the images for the
clear out Cache/FileCache and see if you still see this, if so it would
be good to see the debug for each case. Enable artwork debugging and
see what it says for the problem images.

Looks like I've locked up one of my SB3s
Recalling that earlier today my SB3 *was* able to find SC7, I tried
reconnecting it to SC7. Of course it wanted to update the firmware,
but when I hold the brightness key nothing happens.

So it looks like the new SBC is having trouble connecting to either
source. It lists SqueezeNetwork as a source but can't connect to it.
It does not find SC7 at all, even though the SBR and my other SB3s are
using SC7 with no problem.

I've been trying to set up the new SBC which arrived yesterday. I'm
running the latest Feb-12 firmware (updated via SD card), and the
latest Feb-12 SC7 beta (Windows).
I'm stuck in trying to connect to either music source. The controller
cannot find SC7 at all. Just doesn't list it as a music

The caching of art per track is something I need to look at. In theory,
each track can have different album art and would display this way in
the playlist view for example. But certainly those do not all need to

Squeezecenter essentially freezes up while loading. It will load the
left pane fairly (but not so) quickly, but the right pane (the
playlist?) just hangs at Loading and that freezes up the Squeezebox.

Actually it has been tested for SC7, SS6.5.4 and SS6.5.5 and it works
with all of them. From what testing i have done it should probably work
earlier versions as well.

Then an option to turn off pre-caching completely at scan time is the next best
thing I guess. enhancement request 7103 raised.

I'm running SC7 on a LinkStation HG, which has PowerPC processor.
Although I have seen complaints in server.log about Error: Couldn't
find mDNSResponderPosix binary! Aborting! every time I restart SC7, so
far I haven't seen any adverse effects, because SC continues to load and
run.

It used to be that SC7 scan times weren't much different than SS 6.5.4.
However about a month ago I started noticing that the Artwork Scan
phase began to take a whole lot longer. 5:29 for 595 pieces of artwork
- before it took about 30 seconds.
