I think the OP and you are seeing different issues here. You might have run

I have exactly the same issues (to the letter) with my new
(pre-production) Receiver as described above, but haven't spent enough
time narrowing down the cause yet to properly contribute. I managed to
get it to connect for a whole 10 minutes last night after a similar
amount of time trying as
Strange that you can see the SBR but not SC.
Are you sure the SBR is properly configured?
What happens if you unplug the SBR and then boot the SBC?

On occasion when I couldn't connect to my SC using the SBC, I chose

I tried that, using the IP of the SC7 PC (192.168.0.5) and it actually
finds the network name of the SC7 computer (fathom),
Might be interesting to look at any logs on your access point/router to
see what's happening at that end of the network connection...

I reported this as a bug, and got a response that it was working as

I have SC 7 loaded on my laptop, and I use it to play stuff through

Good suggestion, but instead of looking at wireless logs, I plugged the
SBR in via ethernet and VIOLA! Everything works!
So the
Anyway, if this is the behavior, would it be possible to set it to
locked and high?
It's just the graphics on the web interface: as the volume on Winamp can't be
manipulated it's set to display _some_ value, which happens to be the minimum.
It could display some photo instead - it wouldn't

Unstable is the new 7.0.1. Other software projects would call 7.0 a

Hi there
Sorry to hear all the trouble.
Can you give me some information on how you have tried to connect your

My guess is that you used wireless for both. What are the parameters,
i.e. SSID and encryption you are using?

Thanks Mark, that's a great summary of our situation.
We're down to the last couple of blocker bugs for 7.0.
If you are still having problems with SqueezeCenter, Squeezebox, Duet
or SqueezeNetwork, PLEASE file those bugs now.

Correct, but right now you probably don't want to update to the newer
squeezecenter-repo either. See bug 6974 comment 10.

So...for now, I guess what one needs to do is edit
/etc/yum.repos.d/squeezecenter.repo and change gpgcheck=1 to gpgcheck=0
for all the repositories

Would the behaviour improve if you replaced copyResampled() with
copyResized() in Slim::Web::Graphics? That's not a solution, just one
more data point. The resulting artwork won't be as smooth as with
copyResampled().

I have been running trunk for as long as I can remember, updating

It really isn't bad software.

No need to know perl: we added an option in Settings/Advanced/Performance

give this a try.

Perhaps a silly question, but you don't have both SBRs powered up at the
same time, do you?

I'd second that. SC is looking much slicker than SS now and the upgrade
is far more than cosmetic: the performance and functionality is
excellent.
