I think the sound quality problems break down into two elements: i) hiss and ii) noise artifacts that sound similar to AM radio in bad weather ;-( Actually I think the hiss (i) may be coming from the source material i.e. the controller is -- dare I say it -- too revealing of source quality issues

I suspect the SBR was still booting when I typed discover the first couple times. FWIW, I just ran the same procedure on my wireless laptop running Ubuntu Hardy, and it discovered the SBR just fine. This time I waited until the SBR was slowly flashing red, and it took only one discover to find t

I must just have a dud SBR. I dragged out my old trusty Hawking wireless router to see if maybe I could pick it up either wired or wireless. I did the same thing - reset the router to its defaults, insured all securities were disabled, etc. I even set the Subnet Mask to 255.0.0.0 and made sure the
