Depends on where you are. I think it would be nice if you could carry
away the controller, using it as an mp3 player on the go.

I used to be able to use squeezenetwork and go to musicservices/last.fm
and happily enter a station. Now last.fm does not appear anywhere at all
from the SN (it was a week ag
I think the sound quality problems break down into two elements: i) hiss
and ii) noise artifacts that sound similar to AM radio in bad weather
;-(
Actually I think the hiss (i) may be coming from the source material
i.e. the controller is -- dare I say it -- too revealing of source
quality issues
Been playing with this today; and I really like it. Many thanks for the
work on this. It's going to get stress-tested at a house party
tonight.
A few comments, mainly about Party Mode:
- love Play for Play Next and Add for Add to End. I think that works
well.
- love that Party mode prevents
I managed to miss this one as well, highly embarrassing.
Squeezenetwork can be found in extras>music source.
It's great to know there are others out there!

I can give a few more details on my setup and procedure. I ran this on
a brand new, never configured SBR.
Network: 192.168.1.*
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Router running on 192.168.1.101
- Linksys WRT54GL running Sveasoft Taliman/Mesh
- serving DHCP in range 192.168.1.150-190
SC 7.3 running on

Cygwin is a Linux-like environment for Windows. http://www.cgywin.com
I also checked the Slim Wiki. The flshing white light meant that the
SBR was receiving new firmware.

I suspect the SBR was still booting when I typed discover the first
couple times.
FWIW, I just ran the same procedure on my wireless laptop running
Ubuntu Hardy, and it discovered the SBR just fine. This time I waited
until the SBR was slowly flashing red, and it took only one discover to

Well, there's nothing in the Netgear (there is in the Actiontec router
which is my normal device), and I have to hope that when I disable XP
Pro's Firewall that it's gone. Should I open up the SC ports in the
Netgear you think?

I must just have a dud SBR. I dragged out my old trusty Hawking wireless
router to see if maybe I could pick it up either wired or wireless. I
did the same thing - reset the router to its defaults, insured all
securities were disabled, etc. I even set the Subnet Mask to 255.0.0.0

The problem I'm describing here refers to simply trying to connect to
last.fm either in SN or SC with the official plugin.

"RadioIO" a lot - in fact the first thing you see when you select
radioio from the Controller is a description of "RadioIO is...".

Is there any way to disable Squeezeplay's audible click feedback,when
scrolling through the menus? It is really annoying, and mars an
otherwise very promising product. The last thing I want to hear in the
middle of my music is the bleeps and blips of the software player
selecting the next few tune
Sure can. I just did it here.
Settings > Advanced > Sound Effects > None.
I don't know about the startup sound, though.
