Fair enough. But still, why would anybody want half of their tags read
from id3v1 and the other half read from id3v2?
I would not even consider differing id3v1/id3v2 tags as necessarily
broken. One could actually do that on purpose - in this case, leave
the id3v2 TALB frame blank so that the

Andy, you fixed it properly!
first of all, there is no problem whatsoever loading 200 files into
mp3tag and removing id3v1.1 tags. safe and easy. of course, you could
just do 200 or 2 at a time if you want. confirm it works properly, then
load the rest.
secondly, you can't just remove v1
Check Windows Task Manager and see how much memory MySQL is using. Undo
the MySQL changes and see if things go back to normal.

I'm not so sure - I don't think there was a problem to be fixed.
It may extend further than id3v1 vs id3v2, in that other tag formats could be
merged together.
first of all, there is no problem whatsoever loading 200 files into
mp3tag and removing id3v1.1 tags.
After svn29033, I can't get settings pages for any plugins to open, e.g.
CLI plugin-Settings returns 404.

there was. when a file is valid (playable/viewable by other music
apps) and doesn't show up at all in SBS, thats a problem.

rip single songs from CDs (or incomplete album rips), and thus subsequently
edit tags to remove the album name, so the songs appear under

well, in the bug i suggested that blank tag fields for artist and title
be filled in the DB with a preset string saying what layer was missing.
but i don't see whats so complex with how andy did it... it makes
sense to me. if v1 has info and v2 is blank, use whats in v1.
i'm just not seeing
