Hi
Apart from few bugs I reported here and on Bugzilla, I must confirm
that the performance in SQLite configuration in recent 7.6 betas is
much better than with MySQL in release package. This include browsing,
scanning, switching between playlists and tracks..
thanks for the great work!
I don't remember I changed any defaults.
Where is this setting?

This sounds related to a bug I raised a long time ago:

Definitely related. Whatever the fix for bug 16488, it will close bug
10324 by defining the behavior for updates when the name string is not
character-identical
They fixed it for nordic characters .
It displays Bjork and Björk as artist, thats good .
But search for Bjork does not turn up Björk ? thats ok with me as a
swede, but i bet some other folks have a hard time finding the ö key
:-/
But his is an easy case o and ö are completely different

I'm happy to report that Felix has fixed this in 9075 firmware.
Thanks

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...
Touch(wired/XP) - TACT 2.2X (Linear PSU) + Good Vibrations S/W - MF
Triplethreat(Audiocom full mods) -
But his is an easy case o and ö are completely different letters a
diacritic is a mark for some other kind of pronunciation of the same
letter or what ?
so o=ö is not more correct than a=e for example so that was easy.
An artist name containing a ' should be considered the same as an artist name
As was decided in bug 10324, I will change this to use exact string
matching. It's really the only solution.

Great! Would that be in 7.6, or also 7.5.x?

OK, I've read the thread, and the bug reports. Quite lively.
You expect much from someone who's only been around since April.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing.

Fairly radical, in that a lot of users are going to install 7.6 and
find their loosely tagged libraries containing extra artists, extra
genres and some albums

Turns out I forgot to update a file for the Win32 build, and now the
build server is out of space... so it'll be a bit longer. :(
