Well, you could try creating a perfmon.log directory in the logs
directory... but that's probably not the sort of

Ah, sorry, I was misreading the above posts thinking 7.8 had been

Heh... I guess I should post something about it. I doubt corporate

Heck, I can't even see where to manually download it. I see a nightlies

Sure, and my patch isn't even complete, so I understand even more if
it's not committed ;)

It's a very old and popular bug, and I've been running with the code in
comment#97 for some time and am very satisfied with how it works. The

Excuse the probably-already-answered-somewhere question, but where is
the proper place to send patches for bugs so that they get fixed in the
community version? bugs.slimdevices.com or elsewhere?

No new sync issues here with 7.8, FWIW, and I use sync pretty much
constantly in my house.
Having had sync issues in the past though, there are some questions that
may be good to answer.
1) Is the sync deviation constant or variable?
2) What format is your music in? Does the sync improve when
7.6 and 8.0 releases, just in a decentralized manner.
It will be slower and more chaotic, certainly, but development will
still happen. That unique resistance against obsolescence is what led
me to choose Squeezebox over its competitors in the first place.

Just checking back in after many months. Good to see some things never
change. Carry on.

placed. ALBUMARTIST essentially translates into a where do you want to
file this album tag, whenever there's ambiguity such as with guest

Also, I have to say I have a soft spot for Dinosaur Jr's Lotta Love

on the ABR or VBR, otherwise you may
get odd bitrate spikes that may exceed the network's capacity.
Don't shoot me for not getting technical details right, I don't even
use MP3s or LAME. Just trying to figure it out myself.

Sorry, didn't mean to be cryptic. There are bugs filed on both:
Bug#9361 is the 7.3 regression, bug#6442 is an older bug that can break
sync in general.

It's likely going to be hairy to fix and SlimDevices would probably
want an indication of strong customer demand before committing
resources to this, so vote!

For what it's worth, I tag my R.E.M. albums with ARTIST=R.E.M. and
ARTISTSORT=REM, in case punctuation is relevant to sorting with any
of the software I use to listen to or manage my music. This approach
may also help with searching.

The original post refers to the data in the database not being correct.
If that's the case, there's no way at all to get the information to

Post more info. For example, what format is your music in, etc.
SlimDevices won't fix a bug they can't verify exists. For example,
ARTISTSORT tags work fine on 6.5.1 for me [I am not a SlimDevices
employee, this is just an example]. Maybe it's something specific to
your setup?
