I always had Random Track, Random Album and a favourite playlist
assigned to Fav buttons and I couldn't find a way to do this with
presets so I hacked the prefs file and it seems to work ok.
Thinking about it though, maybe you can assign a favourite to a
preset?

The fact that it broke lazysearch is a showstopper for me.
I also saw some weirdness when going right arrow from now playing but
can't remember what it was, I went back to 7.5 to get lazysearch back.

I'm finding that if I go into player settings and make changes to the
items on a players menus then it changes them on all my players except
my Transporter.
This is reflected in the web interface and on the players themselves.

players - select player - select menus then make a change and all
players are changed except the TP.
I do have custom browse installed but the menu's in question are just
standard not custom.

No, I was talking about the menus. I've cleaned out my cache (except
cookies) removed a bunch of plugins and restarted the server. I can
make changes to the kitchen player via the web UI and I can see them
change on my study player immediately.

Recent windows builds of 7.1 have been suffering from a press of the
shuffle button, causeing the shuffle option to toggle twice. Luckily
there are three options so you can still get where you want to go :-)

There's a utility (Windows only) on my site linked below, that will
reset the modified dates to match the file's creation date and restore
order to 'new music'. Some people have pointed out that this can mess
up backup strategies so use at your own risk.

I don't know about Powerdesk but it's one click to change the lot with
me program and assuming you ripped your cd's when you bought your SB
and then rip new CD's as you buy them - it works fine.
I do agree with you though, I wrote the program to get around what I
saw as

Well us old timers never had to do that :-), it was done as as option on
the installer and that was that.
I guess that setting was carried over as long as the directory wasn't

opped playback and played the whole album fine on my TP

The obvious thing that springs to my mind is that the flacs need
transcoding for the SB1 but not for any of the newer players.

'Screensaver when Playing' but was presumably intercepting the play

I think I've narrowed it down. The messages occur when the player is
stopped and the left hand display is blank. I'm not sure why the left
display is blank though - that seems to be something that's only
occurred recently.

the scanning message in the left pane doesn't clear after a scan
whether you refresh the page or not.
I'm using the Fishbone skin on the latest windows 6.2 build but have
been seeing this for a few days now.

I'm already seeing an issue whereby web UI refreshes or Random Mix
adding new tracks causes excessive cpu usage, enough to cause the
buffers on SB1's to empty and stutter. I've not tested the latest build
but I would have thought that it would make things worse.

I can view any page except view artwork without pausing on a 10,500 song
DB so that's a definate improvement.
Pat - apart from the rescanning, aren't your problems caused by other
apps using the cpu? whereas these fix's seem to be related to
SlimServer stalling the streaming.

I just noticed that the track ordering on double albums is messed up.
Viewing a track shows that the disc # is not being picked up in 6.5 but
it is in 6.2.
This is with flacs and the tags appear to be ok.

I've always used DISCNUMBER = 1 of 2 and it's worked ok, I've just
changed some DISCNUMBER tags to just 1 or 2 and they were picked up as
disc # but disc 2 was sorted first !!
The same files are being read fine in 6.2.2 so something has changed
somewhere.

I have parallel installations of 6.2 and 6.5 so I can switch between
them whenever I like,
I've never had success with DISCNUMBER = 1 though, that's why I took
the X of Y approach and it's worked well untill recently.

I've been seeing this for a while now on 6.5,
My music folder is D:\ but the setting keeps getting changed to D:\D: I
can't figure out when it's happening but it seems pretty regular.
This is on XP and it was happening before the split server was
introduced.

OK, I've just made a new installation of 6.3 to an new directory while
6.5 gets a bit more useable. During installation I set my Music Folder
to D: but when the server came up, I had no music. Checking server
settings shows my Music Folder as D:\D:.
Is no one else seeing this?
