However, I often start a scan and then click the View Scan Details link,

I think you hit the nail in the head when you say that it was a timing
issue, as it would happen randomly.

I've been running Opera for ages now
10yrs here :-)
The Artwork button at the bottom of the playlist pane doens't work. It

In an attempt to make the SC wizard obsolete I've been working on improved
default behaviour on initial setup (SC 7.3). The two most important settings in
the wizard were language and music source. These are now detected from your
system if possible:
