[Bf-committers] hello, world... :)

2019-02-04 Thread Jim Bates
I have been away for a long time, just getting back to using Blender and have had several chats in IRC threads... this was recommended as a place to discuss some of the topics but I may want to switch to doc and/or python groups. at present, aside from shoveling snow (IRL), would like to understan

2019-02-13 Thread Jim Bates
seen a few files w/o header, and some that it's close to 10% of the script. my question is: can this be treated as an external link/ref so not an inline block of comments? This may have been brought up before but I'm just getting back to Blender "add-on" stuff. ___

I so miss the 60-80hr work weeks of coding, managing, documenting, marketing, distributing of software products... do new volunteers get complementary protective underwear? As for what can be done better, during the transition to the next release there is going to be a lot of turmoil. As I am not

Re: [Bf-committers] Eevee/Cycles light intensity mismatch?

2019-03-17 Thread Jim Bates
Asked a similar question before, and was told that light options were going to be changed - eliminating some features. Not sure it's related but does concern me that "spot/Halo" lights are going to be removed/limited. May be for other optimization of filed/object performance processing, but I don't

A few comments, thought I lost a week with date for weekly report :) Do have concerns with current build updates/code branching and GSoC all at same time. I'm just going to spectate and root for the home team; will consider entering arena for some script updates once things settle down. Aside fro

Excellent work/progress. Good to see what I perceive as considerable improvement/stabilization. One thing I think is missing is any reference to GSoC participation regarding projects/development. As a spectator I don't have any more than desire to see success for all that are actively involved in w

As a non-administrative viewer, having scanned your proposal, a few comments/questions. "Fabric" being a "plane" (2 dimensional) will be constructed using basic geometric shapes (squares, triangles, perhaps circles) to form an object that may be affected by other tools (i.e. wind) for animation pur

As mostly a spectator, I hope it's not an attack, just a maintenance thing. With the upcoming release I would suspect sabotage :) I have just recently gotten back to chat for developers and hoping that things settle down before I seriously join as a contributor. Regardless, excellent work and best
